BIBLE DISTRIBUTION:
Advance the gospel; go into all nations through the effective placement and mass distribution of the Holy Scriptures. The foundation of a new believer is built in the Word of God. Across Africa where thousands give their lives to Jesus Christ daily, many do not own or have access to the Word that has set them free and that will keep them free permanently. This initiative serves as an extended missionary arm of the church. Our sole purpose is to win people to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through personal testimonies and distribution of bibles in places such as hotels, prisons, schools and other places where they can be easily accessed. We have a passion to share God’s message of salvation. We are able to achieve this by placing bibles and other biblical materials in the hands of people or where such resources can easily be reached. Bibles are paid for by donors and sponsors and are given free of charge in places that have been well researched and identified to benefit greatly. Dr. Luis Palau, international evangelist said “if you have to cut every ministry and keep one, printing and distributing the bible has to be number one”
FOOD FOR GRANDMA
Increasingly grandparents are shouldering greater responsibilities due to changing social and economic pressures. The AIDs pandemic means many elderly people are now looking after their grandchildren, whose parents have died. As a result, they often resort to begging for alms or take on very dangerous low paid manual jobs to feed themselves and their grandchildren. We believe grandma and grandpa deserve love, care and dignity – can you help in making this happen. Young boys and men are actively involved in crime and drug related activities to survive. Teenage girls are actively engaged in prostitution and looked after by “sugar daddies”. Have you ever wondered who looks after grandma and grandpa? The Food for Grandma Programme simply provides food to elderly citizens particularly those living in rural villages often in extreme poverty and poor living conditions. Once an elderly person (grandma or grandpa) is identified and assessed, a visiting plan is established and a “Food Basket” is delivered every month. A basket contains a 6kg bag of rice, beans, fresh fruits, meat/fish and cartoons of bottled water. In some cases, we will include clothes and other much needed items. As part of the visit, the gospel of Jesus Christ will be shared with the recipients. £18 a month provides a Food Basket for grandma and grandpa delivered every month.
PRISONS
The Prison System in Africa and the treatment of inmates is very harsh and living conditions are very poor. The festive season, such as Easter and Christmas, is often a very difficult and lonely time for prisoners as some are never visited by family members. As a knock on effect, suicidal attempts and violence erupting from anger and frustration is quite high. We believe God has called us to preach His word and also feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick and visit prisoners. Our charity has been granted access into one of the most notorious prisons in Lagos Nigeria (Kirikiri Medium Security Prison). We plan to establish a (Midway Transition Academy” that will serve as a rehabilitation centre for offenders on release. Facilities for normal education and other activities will be provided so that freed offenders will not find life and the transition back into society so difficult. The message of the good news will be reinforced to bring eternal life to the darkest area of people’s lives.
